MetaTrader4 system crash problem

I face a MetaTrader4 system crash problem.
when I activated my EA copy with activation key, the system crashes with following details display:

There has been a critical error
Time : 2009.12.17 18:46
Program : Client Terminal
Version : 4.00 (build: 220, 7 Nov 2008)
OS.................................................

Kindly provide me a solution for the problem.

Hello mendi,
This is due the old version of your MT4.
Upgrade your MT4 to recent version.
For upgradation, you should be notified every time you start your MT4
